Characters
Initially, there are 3 main characters available, knight Elesis, witch Arme, and archer Lire elves. As game updates increase, more characters are added to the available lists, each adding a different style of play to the other, and can be unlocked by performing a difficult free mission or by buying characters with real money. The final version of Grand Chase includes 20 playable characters.
Gameplay
Due to combo and special attacks, this game has a similar feel to side-scrolling fighting games such as Double Dragon , while the appearance and background design, as well as characters and monsters, puts the game in anime-esque settings. Although this is an action game, the designers are careful not to make "button noses".
The game is free-to-play, where players have to earn a currency known as Game Points (GP) from completing quest dungeons, individual missions, or defeating other players to buy better equipment and goods, but there are some items that only can be bought with real world currency. In Grand Chase , players will start playing roles as one of the characters they choose and can create three more characters. The player is capable of making more than four characters but must buy additional character slots. However, a player can freely switch between characters he has unlocked before entering the battle, each with their own equipment, skills and level of experience.
There are several characters that can be played to use and players can substitute characters between dungeons. Each character is flattened and equipped separately. The tools are character-specific, but not all accessories are special and their character choices are similar to the class choices in most games. These are the characters that players may play, and advance their classes and develop their skills.
After each expedition to the dungeon, the characters will gain experience points. While the amount of experience gained partly depends on the performance of players in the dungeon, and the level of player character, each player will gain some experience. The player character is also given additional experience after completing each mission. When enough experience is gained, the player's character will progress with one level. Higher levels improve statistics and provide access to better equipment. Experience can also be gained through players versus players.
Upon entering the dungeon, players can form a group of players, to complete it. When choosing a dungeon to play, players are given the option to create their own party or join the ones created by other players. Each dungeon consists of a number of floors, or a certain level, usually with a boss on the final floor.
The items needed to complete the quest will automatically be given to the player at a certain level after the monster is defeated by the party members. All other items are distributed to different party members with the "dice" system. When a good is taken by any party member, every member of the party rolls out their own set of dice; the player with the highest number wins the item. Inventory sizes can be increased, which can be obtained by purchasing with Cash or through Multiple Events. To encourage group play, there is a slight increase in experience when working together. Because each side has a maximum limit of four players, and each player can freely choose which character he wants to use.
The Dungeon Relay can be entered in the same way as a normal dungeon. Up to 4 players can form a party and try Dungeon Relay together. In the Dungeon Relay, players fight with every boss on the Continent in order. Bosses in Underground Relays have improved the stats, making them more difficult to beat. After the boss is defeated, a chest is opened, which contains many valuable items, including cash items. Any boss that has been released in the dungeon can be selected. This mode is only available during certain events.
Player versus player
Players can also compete in combat. There are two types of opposing players in Grand Chase , Tim Battles and Survival, with additional options to choose between Tag and Fight, Item Item and Item Mode. Win/lose statistics are recorded for this match.
The team battle consists of two, four, or six players and can be played in one, two, and three-sided formations. Each player is given the option of joining Team Serdin or Kanavan Team, although they can not change sides during the game. The battle team encourages players to plan their attack strategies and work with each other to defeat the opposing team.
Survival is a mode where anywhere between two and six players fight with another player until only one player is left alive. The surviving player, after the end of the game, was given first place and then I was ordered based on who killed the most. The top half of the Player in the room will win (if there is an odd number of players then the winning number is rounded down). This is done to encourage players to fight rather than hide and run from others until he is the only remaining player in addition to the real winner (the one who fights and defends against the other - the winner in the fair game).
Honor Guard is basically a team battle in which one member of each team is randomly selected as 'Warlord' at the beginning of the game, indicated by a red/blue marker. The goal of the game is to successfully defeat the opposing team's Warlord twice before you yourself are beaten. Warlords are given double regular status to help defend themselves from opposing teams, while other players have stats that are equivalent to each other. Furthermore, a Warlord only has two lives, while other players can respawn after an endless defeat. If a Warlord is defeated once, another Warlord team suffers from a defensive level that drops dramatically for 10 seconds. In addition, warlords can not regenerate health.
Tag Matching allows players to play with two characters of their choice. By pressing a button, they can replace characters during a fight. However, if one of the characters is killed, the player can no longer switch to that character. Then players automatically switch to their other characters.
When the Mode of Goods is turned on, power up will fall into the battlefield at regular intervals throughout the game and can be used by the player who picks it up. This power is given the player's special abilities, such as invisibility or invincibility, for short durations of time. Each player can store up to three power ups at any time and use them in whatever order they want. If a player is killed while holding an item, the item is dropped and available for pickup by another player.
Closure
From 2013 to 2015, all Grand Chase servers are shut down; North American servers were closed on April 15, 2015 after eight years of operation.
