Hunter is a 1994 American comedy film directed by Dennis Hopper, the final director's attempt before his death in 2010. It is about a pair of United States Navy patrols (Toms) and William McNamara) who must oversee the beautiful prisoners (Erika Eleniak), and the problems they face.

Plot
Eddie Devane (William McNamara) is a young sailor who has committed a number of scams related inventory along with his partner in Howard crime (Crispin Glover) and made a lot of money during his service. The day before he was discharged, Eddie was assigned to escort a prisoner from the Marine base at Camp Lejeune along with authoritarian Petty Chief Officer, unobtrusively, Rock Reilly (Tom Berenger). Eddie was certainly unhappy with this development. When Howard saw Eddie who looked fierce was being escorted from his superiors' office by some other sailors, he thought Eddie had been found and arrested for his deceit. To destroy the evidence, he goes to Eddie's desk and finds the money, the existence Eddie hides from him.
Personality Eddie and Rock collide many times during the trip to Camp Lejeune. When they reach their destination, they discover that the prisoner they are carrying is a beautiful young woman, Toni Johnson (Erika Eleniak). However, they soon discover that taking back is not an easy job when he tries to escape disguised as a waiter in a restaurant but gets caught. Then, he pretended the start of the menstruation and puts the tampon inside the van petrol tank that leads to the van being stopped on the road. While walking, the trio finds an abandoned mine and accidentally falls down. They try to stand out on their shoulders. Toni came out first, barking at them and running away but having a change of heart then and back again for them.
They stay overnight at the motel while their van is being repaired. They talked and bonded to a diner where it was revealed that Rock was divorced from his wife and estranged from his son, and Toni first went to AWOL to visit his drug-addicted sister in a hospital. When the authorities tried to arrest him, he refused and made more attempts to escape, leading to his current sentence. His brother died while he was in prison. This makes them see it in a new light and understand the motivation behind its actions. Later in the evening, Eddie learned that Howard had taken all the money and Eddie's new car was planning to buy. He calls Howard, who says he's tired of being used, but says if Eddie answers the riddle he'll turn around: "How do you talk to the fish?", Which Eddie can not answer. Unbeknownst to them, Toni listened to their conversations at other recipients, and realized he was embezzling $ 150,000 from the Navy. Depressed, he was drunk. When he returned to the motel, Toni seduced her, and they both had sex.
The next morning, Eddie wakes up and sees Toni running away. He stole the man's car that picked him up (director Dennis Hopper in cameo). While chasing, Eddie and Rock's van accidentally climbed an artificial volcano at the amusement park and crashed but they were both unhurt. They catch up with Toni only to find that his sister's funeral is about to be done and he runs away with the intention of being there. Frustrated with the situation, Rock and Eddie quarrel. The three then go to the bar, where Toni apologizes to Eddie for running away that morning and mentions "Dropping those lines", answer Howard's riddle, revealing that he overheard the conversation; he then bridged the reconciliation between Eddie and Rock. They travel to their headquarters and hand over Toni.
Eddie realizes that he's in love with Toni and wants to save her. Stone is the deal. When Toni was taken to jail to begin his sentence, Eddie and Rock sabotaged the van in the same way he sabotaged their van before. Eddie imitated a tow truck driver and picked up the van, only for the driver to realize Toni was late inside.
In an epilogue set one year later, Eddie and Toni live there "somewhere south of the border," and Rock, now retired from the Navy, has started a relationship with a waitress he met at a restaurant before.

Hunters are very less accepted by critics. It holds a 33% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
