Transit NJ Bus Operations and the bus charter company from NJ Transit uses a variety of bus models between 25 and 60 feet in length to provide services in the state of New Jersey. The list and the list below lists current and previous buses purchased new or inherited by NJ Transit for heavy duty route services.

This list includes Transport of New Jersey, NJDOT-owned, and NJ Transit buses.
- 1960-1973 GMC "New Look" - majority inherited from New Jersey Transport and Maplewood Equipment Company.
- The late 1960s MCI MC-7 - the majority are former Greyhounds
- 1970s GMC PD-4106 and PD-4107 ("Buffalo")
- 1973 Highway Products, Inc. TC-31 - assigned to Passaic-Athenia Bus Lines, possibly others
- 1975-1978 MCI MC-8 - buy surplus from various sources
- 1976 Flxible 35096-8-1 (30 feet) is mostly assigned to private carriers.
- 1976 Flxible 45102-8-1 (35 feet) - mostly assigned to private operators. Some units are built with one door.
- 1976 Flxible 53096-8-1 (40 feet/102 inches) - mostly assigned to private carriers. Some units are built with single doors and suburban style seating.
- 1976 Flxible 53102-8-1 (40 feet/102 inches) - mostly assigned to private carriers. Some units are built with single doors and suburban style seating.
- 1979 Flxible 870 - buy second-hand use as a substitute for ruined NYCT 870 traces.
- GM Buffalo style buses - 1970s models, used for sale
- Flxible's new "View New" buses - various models of the year, were purchased.

Buses with "PA" prefixes are purchased using the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey funds.
