William B. Harrison Jr. , born August 12, 1943, in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, is a former CEO and chairman of JPMorgan Chase. She attended high school at Virginia Episcopal School, where she was a basketball star. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was accepted at the Zeta Psi fraternity. After rising through the ranks of Chemical Bank before replacing Walter V. Shipley during the merger of Chemical Bank with Chase Manhattan Corporation in 1995, which retained Chase's name. As Chairman and CEO of Chase, he and Douglas A. Warner III, then CEO J.P. Morgan & amp; Co., is the principal architect of the $ 30.9 billion acquisition by Chase J.P. Morgan & amp; Co. in 2000, to form JPMorgan Chase & amp; Co.. Harrison has been a director of the Company or its predecessor since 1991. Harrison is also the director of Merck & Co., Inc.

Jamie Dimon, former CEO of Bank One, replaced Harrison as chairman on January 1, 2007, following Harrison's decision to step down from JPMorgan's chairmanship position on December 31, 2006.
