Academic and academic career

Quick was ordained for the diaconate in 1911 and for the priesthood in 1912. Before becoming chaplaincy to the Archbishop of Canterbury in 1915, he was vice principal of the Leeds Clergy School and later became a priest at St. Martin-in-the-Fields, London. He was given first post in 1918 in his appointment to the home of the priest Kenley, Surrey. He was later promoted to the Canon canonist population (1920), Carlisle (1923), and St. Paul (1930). He became a professor of theology at Durham University in 1934 and was appointed as a canon of Durham Cathedral ex officio . He moved to Oxford in 1939, who had been appointed Regius of Divinity at Oxford University, who brought his canon to Christ Church Cathedral. He remained in the post until his death in 1944.

In his works he advocated the doctrines of soul sleep and conditional permanence. He was one of the foremost exponents of orthodox Anglicanism and established a position similar to the writers of Essays Catholic and Critical (1926). He followed systematic and synthetic methods rather than historical methods and expressed his thoughts in a modern way.
