Google Domain is a domain registration service offered by Google, which is publicly launched in the United States on January 13, 2015. It is currently in Beta stage.
In addition to domain registration, this service offers, at no additional cost, private domain registration, DNS hosting, dynamic DNS, domain forwarding, and email forwarding to any Gmail address. Google Sites can be configured automatically as a website builder, but Google Domains also offers a one-click configuration for Squarespace, Wix.com, Weebly, and Shopify. Google will also link domain names to Blogger blogs if selected. Starting June 2017, Google Domains offers more than 60 top-level domains.
On September 29, 2015, a former Google employee, Sanmay Ved, successfully purchased Google.com domains from Google through Google Domains, and gained full webmaster control. Google later acknowledged the purchase, and awarded Ved with the amount of US $ 6006.13 which in turn requested that the gift be donated to charity. As a result, Google doubles the prize.
